The hardy & easy erect 'red chokeberry' from North America.

This is an upright deciduous bush which has hawthorn like white flowers in spring. These develop into glossy red berries in summer. These are edible when made into jam, which has excellent antioxidant properties. Fantastic autumn colour then follows. Happy in sun/light shade in most soils.

Tips: needs no pruning, good in a mixed border
